APPRENTICESHIP

Apprentices work at Theatre Three for one full season (approximately one year), have already completed their bachelor's degree and are paid a weekly stipend.

Theatre Three is proud to offer this unique internship opportunity to people who have just graduated and are interested in a career in professional theatre. Interns can develop experience in a wide range of areas within the theatre. An intern can expect to learn a general overall view of a professional theatre by working in each of the following catagories:

Production Assistant

  • Manage the audition process
  • Rehearsal assistance
  • Meeting recorder at production meetings with designers and communicator of needs for the production to non-present staff members
  • "2nd unit work"- that is, taking a group of actors into a second space and rehearsing them while director work with another set of actors

Assistant to the Technical Director

  • Assist the Lighting Designer including hang and focus
  • Assist the Master Carpenter with the set build at the off-site warehouse
  • Assist with load-in, build, and strike of sets
  • Assist the scenic painter
  • Assist with general building maintenance

Customer Service Staffer

  • Handle all duties including customer information, ticket processing, reservation processing, and accounting on phone, on-line, and in person
  • Assist house manager with housekeeping duties associated with receiving the public
  • Assist house manager with concessions or party food connected with celebratory evenings

Administrative Assistant
Needs strong word-processing and writing skills

  • Gather and prepare material for playbill
  • Track print jobs using publication log
  • Provide update of web site info as directed to webmaster
  • Manage publicity photos and clippings
  • Assist with setup and strike of Press Nights
  • Assist in mail-outs to subscribers and donors
