2006/2007 Auditions

General Information

To set up an audition appointment, please call our administrative offices at 214.871.3300, ext. 203 during regular business hours. The theatre will not audition outside of the established auditions schedule. Audition appointments are typically available in the afternoon and evening of the scheduled audition days.

Auditions typically consist of cold readings from the script. However, occasionally directors will ask for a prepared piece of no more than three minutes in length. Any information regarding specific audition material will be available at the time you call to make your appointment. At an audition for a musical, an actor is required to sing a song of no more than three minutes in length to be considered for a musical role. Please bring sheet music in your key with the appropriate repeats and cuts. An accompanist will be provided. Singing from a tape is optional, but please bring your own stereo. Singing a cappella is not allowed because T3 rarely does a cappella musicals. Please bring a photo and a resume that includes all of your current contact information and performance experience. T3 keeps resumes and photos on file. Even if you have auditioned with us before, bring your most recent photo and resume so that our files remain up-to-date.

Preference is given to actors who live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. It is unusual, though not unheard of, for T3 to cast performers from other cities. The artistic staff believes strongly in nurturing the talent from the immediate region.

Theatre Three is a professional Equity company currently employing AEA members under and SPT contract. Mainstage performers work under an SPT-7 contract and performers in Theatre Too! work under an SPT-1 contract. Non-union performers may appear at T3 if the Equity ratio permits. We are obligated to employ a minimum number of Equity performers in each production before we can hire non-Equity actors. Theatre Three does participate in the Actor's Equity Membership Candidacy Program whereby non-union performers can earn points/weeks toward their AEA membership for each week of work in the company of a Theatre Three production.
